It was made fun of because we're sick of hearing people claim men have it easier, with women whining and complaining at having to do stuff men put up with- which we do without such bitching and moaning. We focus WAY too much on women, and not enough on men. If I'm going to be selfish for just a second; what does society really have to offer for a man like me, who is gay, has a naturally low level of energy, a limited capacity for risk-taking, and interests that are not practical or physical, but artistic and creative? If you want men to contribute, to "give back" to society, you have to assign some amount of intrinsic value to their being born. Women have this, and they have quite a lot of leeway to be however they want to be - these days, to the detriment of men and society at large - and yet, the resounding message from society when confronted with men like me is essentially: "Kill yourself". The state of womanhood has advanced with nearly every decade, whereas men are still stuck with pre-WWII-era gender norms. You can't create a hostile, hellish world just for men to exist in, yet constantly work to construct a paradise for women, and then scream and cry about men transitioning genders, or, god forbid, wearing a dress. Men exist only to be slaves and soldiers, women are the actual humanized ones, right? So it's no surprise that men hate the world. Good riddance.
